Nothing goes further towards building closer more intimate friendships and a sense of oneness and togetherness than events experienced together in a small group setting. Small Group studies provide excellent opportunities to connect with your brothers and sisters in Christ on a more personal level that simply isn't possible in a corporate church setting. Jesus had the masses, He had the twelve and within the twelve He had three. Then there was one. That is the pattern for building varying degrees of closeness and intimacy within our human relationships. The reason is it the pattern or an example is because it appeals to the inherent nature of our make up.
That is the beauty of small group studies. A relaxed, informal, non-intimidating setting which promotes a greater sense of ease and comfort. It is within the context of this environment that we begin to gradually let down our guard a little and the barriers that keep us from growing together begin to fall. The result is a close knit body of believers growing together in oneness in the image of Christ with Jesus being the common thread that holds us all together.
